We will have three open social dances, as well as workshops on Contras, Squares, Scottish Country Dance, English Country Dance, Percussive dance, and couple dance. Also offered will be music workshops on old-time fiddle, banjo, & singing, as well as open Jam Sessions. This event is sponsored by the Fayetteville Traditional Dance Society and the Arkansas Country Dance Society.

We are delighted to be hosting this weekend at the Mount Sequoyah Retreat Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Just 5 minutes from the Fayetteville Square, the Center provides multiple facilities on 33 beautiful wooded acres at the top of Mount Sequoyah. Activities for the weekend will be in Parker Hall and Wesley Hall, both built in the 1920's. Live music will be provided by The Old 78s, Ozark Highballers, and Two Cents Worth.
Fayetteville Traditional Dance Society
FTDS has booked a block of rooms in three locations for the event. Fifteen very basic dorm like rooms are available above the main hall for $45 a night, 15 private cottage rooms close to the main hall for $75 a night, plus 11 private and semi-private rooms in Wesley Hall for $60 a night. The rooms are being held in the name of the Fayetteville Traditional Dance Society. To reserve one, please contact Rebecca at Mt. Sequoyah, 479-443-4531. Cutoff date for the blocked rooms is October 9th.
With your registration, three meals are provided; Saturday breakfast in the cafeteria and potluck lunch in Parker Hall kitchen. Sunday breakfast is also provided in Parker Hall kitchen. The Saturday evening meal is on your own with plenty of restaurants 5 minutes away on Dickson Street, around the square, and College Avenue.
The weather in November is variable so bring layers for any outdoor activities. It is typically 60’s in the day time and 40’s at night. The public social dances will be inside Parker Hall.
Cost is $55 per person through October 10th, $65 after the 10th and at the door. Registration gives you access to the concert, all workshops, social dances, and three meals. You can register online below or download and mail in your registration. Admission to the social dances is also open to the public at $10 per person per dance. Public admission to the Friday concert is $10 and includes admission to the Friday night social dance.
